The Big 30th Birthday Celebration

So, Saturday night was the big 30th birthday celebration. Matt and I went on a dinner cruise along the Hudson River that took us all around Manhattan, down by Brooklyn and back. It was about a 3-hour cruise that started right before sunset so provided some great views of the city with pretty sunset colors during the first half of the cruise and on the way back we got to see the night lights of the city.

The food was great as well. (Which we were pleasantly surprised by as we thought with such great atmosphere/attractions, the food may be sub-par.) We started with a champagne and cheese course. Then Matt had a jumbo shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. I had a salmon trio appetizer, which was a meal in itself - smoked salmon, salmon tartar, bacon-smoked salmon and potato salad - yum! We both had the steak for dinner, which was really really good. Matt played it 'smart' with dessert and got a fruit salad. It being my 30th birthday, I went all out and ordered the chocolate ganache which was delectable :)

It was a really great evening and a wonderful experience. All in all, my 30th birthday was a real treat and the dinner cruise was a great way to finish off the celebrating!
