New Orleans 2015

In 2011, our friends, Scott and Krissi, got married in New Orleans (which you can read about here).  Every October, they go back and invite friends to join in celebrating their anniversary.  This is the first year we have been able to go back for the anniversary trip.  We had so much fun!  Besides the fact that we LOVE New Orleans and always have fun, it was really great to see some of our friends that we haven't seen in a while.  Besides the usual imbibing on Bourbon Street, we enjoyed good food, a swamp tour, a disappointing Cowboys game and as always -  fun times :)

August

Our first night, Matt and I broke off from the group to try August, one of chef John Besh's restaurants.  I have really liked chef John Besh ever since I saw him on the first season of Next Iron Chef, and every time we visit NOLA, we make sure to try one of his restaurants.  August is one of his more upscale eateries and is located in a historic building in the Business District (not too far from the French Quarter).  The ambiance was cozy yet elegant, the service was superb and the food was delicious :)
All dressed up :)
Super good (and fancy) food :)

Swamp Tour

On Saturday, we all went out on an airboat tour of the swamp.  The swamp itself was beautiful (never thought I'd say that about a swamp until I saw one), and we even spotted a couple of alligators (or crocodiles??)  They are pretty fast little guys though, so I didn't get any good pics of them :(  Except the one we all got to hold!! :)

Court of Two Sisters Brunch

I have been wanting to go to brunch at this place for years!  I am glad that we all finally got to enjoy brunch here at the Court of Two Sisters.  As it is probably one of the most famous brunch places in NOLA, it was crowded and the lines were long, but the food was good, the atmosphere was pretty and the company was great!

Cowboys vs Saints

We saw the Cowboys play the Saints, and lose :(  However, the Saints stadium has a really cool tailgate party with a concert before the game that was lots of fun.  Even though our team lost, this was both mine and Matt's first professional football game, and we were happy for that.

NOLA is always a fun time and can't wait for our next trip!
