Thanksgiving 2011

Our second Thanksgiving in New York was wonderful :) Last year, we had plans to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but didn't quite make it out in time. As we were heading to the parade route, we saw throngs of people coming at us and assumed we had just missed it ;). However, this year we made it to the parade and had a really good view of the people, floats, balloons - all of it! I was so excited (probably more excited than a lot of the kids at the parade), and I took tons of pics. But, I will spare you and only post a few of my favorites :)

For Thanksgiving dinner, we went to Brasserie 8 1/2. It was delicious! I had a beet salad for an app (which was more pretty than fulfilling, but still good :), and Matt had this really yummy bacon/cheese risotto. I went the traditional route for the entree with the turkey dish, but Matt bucked tradition and ordered the lamb shank. It was pretty good, but I gotta say you can't have Thanksgiving without turkey ;) We both got the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert - yum!!

The turkey was super yummy, and while the stuffing and cranberry sauce are a little on the 'modern' side, they still tasted good :)

The pumpkin cheesecake was fabulous!! :)

All in all, a pretty perfect Thanksgiving :)
