We have had many reasons to celebrate our friends lately...
Brooke's Wedding
The first weekend in June, we headed back home to Dallas to see our friend, Brooke, get married and become Brooke Chandler Cooper - YAY! The wedding was lovely and the reception was a blast! We also had the honor of attending the rehearsal dinner, which was all about good 'ole Southern food - soooo good :) However, the best part was seeing our friend Brooke so happy. It is obvious that she and her husband (Aaron) are very much in love, and we are so happy for her and their future together!

That weekend we also go to see family, which included lunches/dinners at some of our favorite restaurants, picnics and feeding the ducks at a local Mesquite park, playing with the nephews (mostly Matt chasing them around and giving them piggyback rides ;)) and lots of catching up.
Of course, we also got in a lot of hang-out time with friends. We finally got to go to The Meddlesome Moth, a restaurant that we had heard a lot about from our Dallas friends, and it was delicious! The food was amazing, the brunch drinks were yummy and they had beer flights - any place with beer flights is a sure winner! We then hit The Nodding Donkey, another new place we had heard about from our friends. Cheap drinks and a lovely warm afternoon on the patio - good times!
Noelle's Big 3-0 :)
On June 11th, we headed down to Brooklyn to celebrate Noelle's 30th birthday. It was at this super fun bar called Full Circle Bar, which has skee ball (which I haven't played since a kid at Chucke E. Cheese) and a great selection of beers. The party was a great time! We played skee ball, had some fun with mustaches (below), and mingled with the many, many birthday party goers. Also, as some of you may know from reading this blog, Noelle has been developing her kitchen skills by cooking different appetizers/mains every Sunday. A lot of these Sundays she comes over to our place, and we get to enjoy her creations. Everything I've eaten that she's made has been outstanding! Apparently, her kitchen talents include baking. She made her own birthday cake, which was beautiful and extremely yummy.
In other celebratory news:
- Our friend Thea bought a cute new house.
- Our friends Brad and Nikki Smedberg finished (or almost finished) renos on their new house, and the pics look amazing. Also, they have both recently had great career success with promotions and new jobs.
- Our friend Trish finished training to become a yoga instructor and graduated from the program with a teaching job all ready to go.
- I finished my first semester of school here in NYC. All of my nursing prerequisites are now complete and I have a 4.0 (yay me!) which should guarantee me a spot in the upcoming nursing program in September. I will know for sure on July 14th - fingers crossed!
