First Week of Classes - Finally!

This week I started classes at La Guardia Community College in Long Island City, NY (Queens). It feels as if I've been waiting for forever to get back to class! It's actually been about 10 months since the last classes I took in Dallas, but it seems like it's been forever ;)

This semester I am taking English 101 (don't get me started on WHY I have to take English, but whatever), Anatomy & Physiology 1 plus a Freshman Seminar course (again, don't get me started on WHY I have to take this class). The good news is... English should be a breeze, the Freshman Seminar Class is a non-starter and at least for the first half of the year everything we are going over in Anatomy & Physiology I have already learned in the Biology and Chemistry classes I took last in Dallas. So, hopefully that means all As this semester!

Techinically, I am a pre-nursing student and haven't made it to the actual nursing program yet; I have to complete English (1 & 2) and Anatomy & Physiology (1 & 2) before I can advance to the nursing program. Hopefully, I will be starting the program this time next year, and then take about 1.5 years to complete the program.

However, all I've heard is how good this nursing program is (93%+ student pass rate on the RN licensing exam on the first try) and of course how competitive it is since it is such a good program. You are basically only guaranteed a spot if you apply with a 4.0, and then they fill space from there. Usually the lowest GPA is a 3.8. So, again - hopefully all As this semester! Wish me luck :)

  1. Good luck! Even though I know you don't need it at all. I know without a doubt you will do great and make all As!

  2. Wow good luck! So happy for you! And I won't get you started on the English thing but WTH?! That's SOO dumb! If anyone should be able to get right to the meat of the studies it should be you!
