Carissa
As mentioned, I finished my Bachelor of Nursing program in December - thank the LORD! :) Thought I was done (for a little while anyways) with my nursing education. Think again! I got my ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification in January, and in February and March have taken and completed an Emergency Nursing course. I have done all of this with hopes of transferring to our Emergency Department, but the ED Director quit right before I was finished with my course, and as he was the one I was working with on my transfer, things are kind of up in the air as far as that goes. We will see how it all works out.Next on my list of things to do is learn Spanish. I asked for and received Rosetta Stone for Christmas. So, wish me luck in that endeavor!
Matt
Matt is keeping very busy with his job. He is winning business, being asked for contributions on high-level strategy and analytic projects/engagements, building his team and doing all kinds of other great things. He has become a very valuable and sought-after team member in his company. This is all well and good, and I am very proud of him, but it also means that he is busy and working a lot. Hopefully, things will settle down for him soon.Us
We are continuing to enjoy everything ocean-side living has to offer - great weather, fun things to do outdoors and in, exploring new places, etc. Our Saturday morning bike rides are one of our favorite things to do - we take advantage of the sun and the stunning views of the beach, find fun places to eat (both new ones and our old favorites) and sometimes turn the bike ride back home into a pub crawl :)We are also still doing a lot of traveling, both locally and farther out. We recently went to Santa Barbara (which we love!) and have a trip planned to Mexico at the end of this month. Also on our list for this year are San Francisco, Oregon and Australia - none of these are booked yet, but are planned and will hopefully happen!
