On Friday, we went to the MOMA, which Matt and I had not visited yet. I would say I like 'old' art over modern art, but the MOMA was a wonderful visit. The museum itself is a really nice, modern, sleek building with a stone court-yard/sculptre-yard and several restaurants and bistros. Some pics below of things I found interesting.
Edvard Munch
Van Gogh
For some reason, I like this guy
What is Homer doing here?
Wall of soup!!
Friday night we went to Spice Market. Matt and I had been wanting to try this place for a while, and our friend, Thea, had actually been to the location in London. Our friend, Trish (also Thea's friend as we all know each other from Dallas days) joined us for dinner at Spice Market. We shared the 'sharing menu' which was plenty of food, and it was all delicious.
On Saturday morning, we walked the Brooklyn Bridge. Matt and I had walked the Brooklyn Bridge before, but at night. So, it was a good to be able to walk it again when you can actually enjoy the views from the bridge. Then we all had breakfast/brunch at a Wafels & Dinges (yum yum!) cart at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge on the Manhattan side.
Wafels & Dinges
Seriously - one of my favorite places ever!
After that, it was off to the Mets game :) Matt and I have a goal to see a game in all US ballparks. Thea has a similar goal, so of course we made time for a Mets game during this weekend - thanks to Thea :) The Mets lost by 1, but it was a good game :) Now, we've been to 5 US ballparks - got a ways to go :)
That night Trish took us all to one of her favorite sushi/Japanese places in her Brooklyn hood, the Iron Chef House. It was very, very yummy. And, on Sunday afternoon, I met up with Trish and Thea for some super delicious treats from The Milk Bar and enjoyed a few drinks at a fun little bar, The Penny Farthing. Then, we were off to dinner at Artichoke Pizza, a staple of NYC eats :)
