Christmas in NYC

Matt and I have started a Christmas tradition of sorts: the day before we go home to Dallas for Christmas, we stroll around NYC taking in the Christmas spirit here. Usually this means going by the traditional Christmas windows (Lord & Taylor's, Macy's, Saks, etc) and going by the Christmas market in Bryant Park. Well, we have kind of been disappointed in the traditional Christmas windows the last few years. So, today we decided to just stroll around and see what we see. Here are some pics of Christmas spirit in NYC :)

Breitling (watches)... I think I passed Matt's "Which one of these would you pick out for me?" test ;)

A really awesome snowflake hanging in the middle of the intersection at Park and 59th (I think)... the picture doesn't do it justice. It was really pretty.

Bergdorf Goodman - their 'Follies' theme.

Harry Winston is all dressed in Christmas spirit... I of course told Matt that he could buy me anything from this store that he wanted :)

Fendi always looks cool with their dripping ice cycles.

Uniqlo is getting in the spirit. (We also bought some of their famed heat tech clothing - I can't wait to try it out and see if it works!)

Cartier all dressed up in bow. I wouldn't mind opening a Cartier for Christmas ;)

Also, tonight (as mentioned in a previous blog), I hosted my first 'dinner party'. However, one guest bailed (she was sick, so I'll forgive her ;)). So, it was just three of us. Not exactly a party, but fun nonetheless. And, all the food was delightful! We had a veggie/pita/dip assortment of appetizers, a cheese ravioli main, mashed potatoes (divine!) and green beans as sides with red velvet cupcakes for dessert (yummy!). Also, I tried my hand at mulled wine, and it turned out pretty tasty. Maybe we will try to make this a tradition as well - NYC transplants getting together for a 'Christmas Dinner' before we all go back to our respective hometowns - but hopefully with a bigger turnout going forward.

YUM!

Love having Trish in NYC!

Merry Christmas!

Can't wait to be back in Texas tomorrow! :)
