It's Always Good to Have an Excuse

As my yoga teacher says when trying to coax us into a tough pose, "It's always good to have an excuse. Me, I have bad ankles."

As you may have noticed, I am severely lacking in blogging frequency (which, sadly, isn't uncommon for me), but I do have a good excuse :) For the past six weeks, I have been interning at Bellevue, which was an incredibly rewarding and educational experience. However, most of my days (4 out of the week) looked like this:

  • 5AM - wake up, get ready, eat breakfast
  • 6:15AM - out the door
  • 7:00 AM - arrive at Bellevue, ready to volunteer my time (yep, worked really hard for free - but it will look good on my resume ;))
  • 10:30AM - maybe got a 10 minute break, maybe not if the unit was busy
  • somewhere around 12 or 1 - got lunch
  • 4PM - leave Bellevue
  • 5PMish - arrive home
  • 5:30PM - leave again to go out for a run (definitely not getting up any earlier than 5AM to fit in a run, so had to settle for after-work running, of which I am not a fan)
  • 6:45PM - get back from run, ice whatever hurts after the run, jump in shower
  • 7:45PMish - get dinner on the table
  • 8:30PM - finish up dinner/dessert
  • 9:30PMish - try to get to bed as I will be getting up again in 6ish hours to start all over
Where is the 'free-time' in the above schedule? There is none! ;) I am not complaining, just really leaning heavy on my excuse for not blogging :)

So, along with the Vermont post I just finished, I will be trying to catch up over the next few days. Hope you enjoy :)
