We got to the stadium about an hour before game time. We walked around to check out the food options, as it was about dinner time. Yankee stadium has a good variety of food places serving the standard stadium fare. Matt was able to get a grilled chicken sandwich, but I had given up bread for Lent so was very limited in my choices (no sandwiches, no pizza, no burgers, no hot dogs...). The only thing available to me seemed to be a gigantic smoked turkey leg. It was very messy, but pretty yummy :)
Unfortunately, the weather for the game was super cold and windy! The temp was in the 40s and the winds were gusting at 20+mph. We tried to be troopers, and managed to make it through the entire 4th inning (about an hour into the actual game). After that we headed to the Hard Rock (at the stadium) and watched the rest of the game from there. We did manage to meet other Rangers fans everywhere we went - probably b/c it wasn't too hard to spot the people cheering for the other team ;) The people in front of us in the stands were from Waco, and the people at the next table over at the hard Rock were from Dallas. It was good to see other Texans!
The Rangers ended up winning 5-3 - YAY! However, as of this writing Yankees won the next game, and the series is tied 1-1. We will see who wins tonight!
Matt and I are going to go back to a Yankees game later this spring or in the summer when we can have a better possibility of good weather. Also, we have a Mets game on our bucket list, so we will try to hit one of those this summer, too. Enjoy the pics!
