A Lovely Valentine's Weekend

Our first Valentine's in NYC was absolutely wonderful! We had a fabulous dinner at Club A Steakhouse. We both started with salads and then split the Mixed Grill for Two which included lamb chops, veal, Italian sweet/spicy sausage and filet mignon. We finished off the meal with a yummy carrot cake. Besides the wine we enjoyed with our meal, the restaurant offered us complimentary cocktails after our dinner. Of course we did not pass this up! Matt ordered a Gin and Tonic while I opted for a Dirty Martini. All in all, a wonderful and delicious experience. Pics are below.

Club A Steakhouse - our table was in the back by the fireplace.

The plate of meat aka Mixed Grill for Two (They automatically started serving up the food as soon as they brought it to the table. So, you are missing some of the 'WOW' factor because some of the meat is already on our plates :))

Yummy side of Truffle Mac N Cheese

All served up - as you can see we tried to balance the mac n cheese with broccoli ;)

We also decided to stay at a boutique hotel in Midtown just to add something special to the evening. We stayed at the St. Giles Court and were really impressed with the size of the room plus the posh style of the hotel. The best part was breakfast in bed the next morning. We both ordered pancakes (of course I had to splurge on the banana/chocolate chip pancakes), and we split some seasonal fruit and a pot of coffee. It was soooo good. In fact so good I forgot to take pics of the food before we dug in. But, here are some pics of our pretty hotel room.

The bed and chaise lounge were both super soft and comfy.

AND THEN, our awesome friend, Noelle, came over on Sunday night and we cooked up a lovely Valentine's dinner. Noelle has been taking some cooking classes and showed off her new found skills by making a fennel/mandarin/olive salad (recipe compliments of Martha Stewart). I threw some ingredients in a CrockPot for a pretty delicious Salmon/Rice casserole. And, I made my homemade Red Velvet Cupcakes. All in all, our Valentine's weekend was filled with great food!

Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's! :)
