On Friday night we went to a nice, romantic dinner at a French bistro just around the corner from our apartment. On Saturday we watched the USA/Ghana game. And Saturday night we had the pleasure of having our first guest over to our new apartment. We enjoyed some pre-dinner drinks and munchies at our place, then went on to an American-style bistro (Henry's) that had good reviews in New York Magazine. We liked it very much; it was a hit for sure! Then we went on to a bar we had been wanting to try, Amsterdam 106 (aptly named as it is located at Amsterdam Ave and 106th St). We really liked this bar as it had a good atmosphere and many micro-brew and craft beer options on tap. Matt has already proclaimed "Now, this is my kind of bar!" So, for anyone who comes to visit us - expect to go there! :)
On Sunday we grabbed some cheese, crackers and wine and enjoyed a lazy afternoon at Central Park. It was so relaxing. I am pretty sure I nodded off for a good long nap at some point :) Anyways, put some pretty park pics below for you to enjoy.
Semi-celebrity sighting: So, for anyone who knows who this is... Matt saw Fouad Ajami on the subway the other day. He was very excited about it :)
