It's not me! (this time)

Usually, I start out a blog post with some excuse about why I haven't blogged earlier, but this time, it is not me! There just isn't anything new to report. I guess Matt and I have gotten to that point in LA where we are 'settled in' and everything just seems to be 'how life goes' now. We have been here almost a year at this point, so it makes sense.

We are still...
- working in our respective jobs with not much change. I do have to say, I am still rather enjoying my part-time RN job at the adult day care center, and I am still surprised at how much I actually do like it. I don't know if this is just because I like nursing and enjoy getting to be a nurse, or if I have found my calling in community/health nursing. Either way, it is a good thing.
- (I am still) taking my RN-BSN classes on line and it keeps me pretty busy. It is a pretty intense course load, but I keep telling myself that if I can just keep pushing through, I will have my BSN by December. - THANK THE LORD!
- riding our bikes on Saturdays. This has become our Saturday morning routine - get up, get on the bikes, bike for an hour, stop for breakfast, bike back for an hour. It is a great way to get in a workout (burns A LOT of calories!) without feeling like you are working out. Plus, it is a great way to explore our neighboring beach communities.
- going to church on Sundays. I may not have mentioned this on the blog before, but we found a church community that we like - St. Augustine By the Sea in Santa Monica. We have been attending for about 3 months now, and went to several Holy Week/Easter services this past week. It is a small, but friendly faith community and we are enjoying getting to know the priest and other church members.
- going out and having a good time. Our 'go-to' weekend spot has become Santa Monica. We have found many favorite places there for wine/drinks, dinner, brunch, shopping, etc. We also enjoy going to Culver City on the weekends, which has a cute, friendly downtown area.

Anything new?
I really can't think of anything new to report. We are getting ready for a trip to Hawaii in about a week. We are soooo excited to see HI (neither of us have ever been) and to visit some of our good friends from Dallas who have been living there for a the past year or two. YAY :)

Until next time...
